The Idea

When award-winning baker Bo Sundstrom created the Original Postcake recipe, he started by focusing on flavor. He was intrigued by the idea of combining the distinctive flavors of chocolate, hazelnuts, and rum. After trying several different variations, Bo came up with a five-step recipe using hazelnuts, honey-glazed slivered almonds and rum-flavored chocolate. The end result is a rich and delicious treat.

The Postcake family also includes the Sacher Torte and the Lemon cake, each with their own unique character and taste. In the Sacher Torte, you'll find rich dark chocolate with a hand coated layer of apricot jam, almond paste, and chocolate truffle crust with a hint of punsch.* Our Lemon Cake brings together the flavor of lemon, almond, and marzipan accented with mandarin orange slices and raspberry jelly.

*Punsch - a traditional Swedish dessert liqueur with origin from the 19th century.
